Post-Op Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Faster Recovery after Procedures
After any surgery, swelling, pain, limited mobility and wound issues are common and need extra care. As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Wound Care Specialist with over 25 years of experience, I have seen it all and enjoy providing care after plastic surgery like tummy tucks, breast procedures and liposuction, as well as common surgical procedures.
Treatments can include manual lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling, wound management for complications, scar treatments and holistic pain relief. Not all Doctors will recommend aftercare however, getting quality, gentle lymphatic drainage will help ease the discomfort that comes when the bruising and swelling subsides. Early treatment within the first 1-2 weeks is ideal. Weekly session for the first 4-6 weeks will continue to aide in swelling reduction and return to easier mobility.
As a wound care specialist with years of experience, I have a wealth of knowledge on how to manage this initial post-op journey if a complication occurs. I coach individuals worldwide to manage their post-op incision issues like T-junction openings, spitting stitches and necrotic tissue. It's good to have trained eyes and hands ready. You can find my content on the subject on Instagram and Tiktok.
If you are planning a procedure in the capital region or abroad, send an email (betterwellnesspt@gmail.com) to connect in well in advance to make sure you have a place to get care after your procedure.
